There are four common styles of bracelets in bead jewellery.
Perhaps the most popular style currently is the pendant or charm style bracelet, in which bead pendants are hung off chunky chain.,main picture. See the Designing Bracelets article in the Helping you Choose article series( for advice on making striking designs in this style. rockingrabbit.netflarehosting.com/node/7049
Chain linked styles(top left) are very attractive, in which the beads are made up into sections which link together in a "daisy chaIn" arrangement. For instructions on how to make chain links, see also Turning Loops in the techniques section at the Portal page to this artcle series. Also, see Chain Linked Necklaces, which work on the same principles.
The simplest to make is a stretch Bracelet, left, in which the beads are strung onto clear elastic, which is then tied or crimped to finish. This is a great style for younger makers, as there is no need for tools. It may sometimes be hard to push through the bendy tip of the elastic through the bead hole, and avoid semi-precious stones or pearls, which have very small holes. You can trim the tip of the elastic with cutters to give a "sharp" point, which will help.
Not pictured here -strung styles, where beads are threaded onto nymo thread or tiger tail, rather than elastic. While this can look effective, the thread can break from wear and tear on the wrist, wire styles can bend or kink.
